Obama kept
a low profile on Friday as he fulfilled a campaign promise by reversing
President Bush’s policy barring U.S. aid to international organizations
which provide abortions or advise women on how to get them.

WASHINGTON — President Obama on
Friday quietly ended the Bush
administration's ban on giving federal money to international groups
that perform abortions or provide information on the option.

The Secretary of State is authorized and directed to publish this
memorandum in the Federal Register.
The
Foreign
Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2151b(f)(1)), prohibits
nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) that receive Federal funds from
using those funds "to pay for the performance of abortions as a method
of family planning, or to motivate or coerce any person to practice
abortions.
"This bill will all allow for family planning, or
to
motivate or coerce any person to practice abortions."

S. 1173: Freedom of Choice Act
(Senate Version)
4/19/2007--Introduced.
Declares that it is the policy of the United States that every woman
has the fundamental right to choose to: (1) bear a child; (2) terminate
a pregnancy prior to fetal viability; or (3) terminate a pregnancy
after fetal viability when necessary to protect her life or her health.
Prohibits a federal, state, or local governmental entity from: (1)
denying or interfering with a woman's right to exercise such choices;
or (2) discriminating against the exercise of those rights in the
regulation or provision of benefits, facilities, services, or
information. Provides that such prohibition shall apply retroactiv
Authorizes an individual aggrieved by a violation of this Act to obtain
appropriate relief, including relief against a governmental entity, in
a civil action.
This act would prevent Parental Nofification Act and would codify Roe
vs Wade
S.21 -Title: A bill to expand access to preventive health care services
that help reduce unintended pregnancy, reduce abortions, and improve
access to women's health care.

Readiness
Enhancement Act of 2007 (look for this bill to be presented for
consideration) H.R. 1246 would amend title 10,
United States Code, to enhance the readiness of the Armed Forces by
replacing the current policy concerning homosexuality in the Armed
Forces, referred to as "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", with a policy of
nondiscrimination on the basis of sexual orientation
